Karomi Viewer performs Unicode-based Text Comparison. This tool allows the following input-output configurations for text comparison: PDF-PDF, Word-PDF.
As opposed to image compare, in the text compare tool, the user has to select the Master File for comparing with the Sample File. First, the file type has to be selected from the drop down list. The following are the file types available:
Note: If the user chooses Leaflet Word and tries to upload a document in any format other than .docx, then an error message will be displayed.
The sources of Master File are:
Note: The plus sign beside the file name allows the user to quickly add files from the same source.
Click Compare to load Master and Sample Files with the differences. The differences are known as deviations. These deviations (result of text comparison) can be exported as a Report in PDF format which can be shared with anyone by the user. The results of comparison are classified as follows:
This feature allows the user to upload the brief in excel format (.xlsx). The system converts this .xlsx file into a PDF and the content from this file is compared with the text in the artwork.
Types of Text Compare:
Manual Selection refers to selecting sections in the Sample File in the order of how it appears in the Master File. The system marks selections with numbers in ascending order. Note: All the sections that are in the master must be selected and marked correspondingly in the sample. There cannot be any omissions. If a particular section is ignored/left unmarked while marking for manual selection, then results will not be generated.
The title bar of the Deviation Panel has two icons:
Below the title bar of the deviation panel, there is a secondary bar that has the following functions:
The Deviation Panel displays the differences in the order of pages, that is, differences in page 1 is followed by page 2 and so on. Under each page, the differences are listed based on their order of appearance in the Master and Sample files.
Each of these differences listed in the Deviation Panel act as a link which when clicked will lead the user to the corresponding section of the file where the error is located, both in Master and Sample, appropriately resized to focus the attention of the user on that deviation.
Note: This resizing of the Master and Sample is automatically done by the system when a user clicks on a deviation listed in the Deviation Panel.
The green square next to each deviation in the list is a button which when clicked turns red, meaning that this user has decided to ignore the difference.
In Page 1, the header section of the report captures details such as version and names of the Master File and Sample Files, Master and Sample File Types, Inspected by and the date in which the report was generated. From page 2 onwards, Sample File marked with deviations are repro-duced page by page - Deviations in Sample File Page (n) where each deviation is num-bered. The deviation number is a hyperlink that takes the user to the corresponding page in the report where that particular deviation is explained in detail.
Once all the marked sample file pages are reproduced, then each deviation is discussed in detail. Here again, the deviation is represented as a hyperlink Deviation n where n is the devia-tion number. This hyperlink takes the user to the corresponding page in the report where the marked sample page is reproduced.
